Of the 44 artists the gallery represent, 18 are Brazilian, 17 from other Latin American countries and nine are from the rest of the world. "Galeria Luisa Strina opened its doors on December 17, 1974. At that time, Brazil was emerging from the period of the "Economic Miracle", when the country achieved record economic growth. Ironically, this time coincided with the so-called "Years of Lead", the darkest period of the military dictatorship...
